Dr. Tan Khuu earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Medical Degree from the University of South Carolina. He then trained as a resident physician in the obstetrics and gynecology program at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina for six months before deciding to change careers.

He graduated from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in 2018 where he excelled in the restorative sciences. He was recognized for his clinical skills by both peers and faculty, some of whom became his patients at USC. His clinical work and technical skill in dental prosthetics and composite restorations have been featured in lectures by different faculty members at USC.

In his senior year of dental school, he was selected by USC’s Operative Dentistry Faculty as the recipient of the Rex Ingraham Award for Excellence in Clinical Operative Dentistry During the Doctoral Dental Program, a prestigious award given to one student doctor in each graduating class.

Dr. Khuu is also a portrait photographer, whose work has been published both in the United States and abroad. In the Fall of 2017, he was featured in TroDent, a USC alumni magazine for his photography work.

Within the field of dentistry, he has a special interest in biomimetics and focuses his practice on minimally invasive dentistry, oral rehabilitation, and aesthetics with an emphasis on utilizing evidence-based best practices in both dentistry and medicine to achieve predictable outcomes safely for his patients.
