Should you purchase a camera for dental school?

I can only speak to my own experience, and in my opinion, a DSLR outfitted for dental photography should be a piece of equipment that every dental student should own.

If you don't already have one, get one, equip it for dentistry, and start documenting your best work as soon as possible. Even if you've just started school, start documenting. It allows you to keep a record of your progress and will likely motivate you to do better work.

Start with a budget.

Canon vs. Nikon Systems

Either is fine. The photographer and his or her skills matter more than the equipment he uses.

What lens should I get?

What flash should I get?
